Drawing
lines easily with Direct Distance Entry (All Versions)
- To use DDE to draw a line, you use your mouse as a pointing
device and your keyboard as a distance device. Start the line
command and pick a point. Next, pull your cursor in the direction
you would like to draw the line. At the command line type just
the distance (i.e. 20) and hit enter. The line has now been
drawn the distance and direction you specified.
TIP: Use ORTHO to keep your
lines at a set angle.

This option can also be used to move or edit objects.

For odd angles, rotate your snap angle.(SNAPANG)
Drawing
an Exact Rectangle - To draw an exact rectangle,
first select a starting point. For the second point, type
@x,y. Whereas "x" is the horizontal length and "y"
is the vertical length.
Creating
Polylines of any closed space with a single click
- To create a polyline of a closed space, use the BPOLY command
(Boundary Command). This command works similar to the hatch
command, but creates a polyline instead of hatch.

a polyline. Then, use the AREA command to list the area of
the selected polyline.

- Explore the XLINE command. Besides creating basic construction
lines, it also will create construction lines at precise angles,
offset existing construction lines, and bisect angles on the
fly.
Curved
Leaders can be created with the SPLINE option under
the leader command. To access splined leaders, you will be
prompted for options after you select the second point of
your leader line. Select FORMAT, SPLINE. This creates a splined
leader that can be edited with the grips command.
Linear
Dimensions by Selection can be achieved by hitting
a return when AutoCAD prompts you for the "First extension
line origin". At this point AutoCAD will ask you to select
the line to be dimensioned. Just select a line and place the
dimension.
