CADtech
Seminars and CADuniversity.com are looking for CAD trainers,
teachers, and gurus well versed in CAD software to help author
and produce high quality on-line training to be marketed around
the world.
Overview
It
is CADuniversity's goal to produce a one-stop location for
instant, quality, pinpointed training for the CAD community.
By using small modules that span hundreds of CAD topics, users
can access the exact training they need at a moments notice.
The
following is a set of FAQs about how it works.
What
is the process?
1. Potential authors (you) submit a topic
and syllabus of the material to be covered in the training
module(s).
2. Get approved by the CADuniversity.com staff (us) to be
added to the catalog.
3. Contract is then signed. (you and us)
4. The raw training module is created (you). A module description,
videos, sample files, and documentation are then created and
sent to us.
Each
module may contain as few as 4 videos or as much 30 or
40 depending on the topic. The modules will be priced
accordingly. On average, 8 to 20 videos will usually complete
a module. |
5. Videos and documentation is converted and added to the
CADuniversity.com servers. (us)
CADuniversity.com (us) also provides the advertising, storefront,
real-time transactions, and management.
6. Module(s) are ready for sale. Available 24/7 across the
globe.
7. For each sale, the author (you) receive 50% of the listed
price of the module as royalties, paid monthly for as
long as the topic is viable.
What
is a standard module?
Each
module will consist of 0.5-2 hours of video in 3-5 minute
videos, a printable quick reference guide, and support drawing
files used in the videos. These training modules and courses
will walk you through the commands and processes including
many tips and tricks on the topic. A module could cover a
defined topic "the new PUBLISH tools in AutoCAD"
to a more robust series of modules "Introduction to VIZ."
The
PDF document called working
with modules is an example of a grouping modules so the
user can purchase exactly what they need.
Can
I see a sample of how a module works?
Sure.

on tool palettes in AutoCAD 2004.
Tool Palettes in AutoCAD 2004 and 2004 LT
What
are the available topics?
Our
main objective is to cover CAD applications. AutoCAD and Autodesk
products, Bentley, Eagle Point etc. The application and topics
are just about unlimited. Try to pick a topic that you see
a need for in the CAD community.
List of Autodesk Products to get the brain juices going.
How
many training modules can I create?
As many as you would like. More modules means more selection
and more royalties.
We do ask that you are quite knowledgeable on the topic. This
also helps promote the training modules. i.e. Surveyor explaining
contours in Eagle Point.
Another reason we approve the topics prior to you recording
the videos is so you do not recreate a module that is already
being created by someone else. No need for double work.
If you are interested in a series, see below, you can reserve
the topics and then start creating the modules. We do reserve
the right to give the topic to someone else if no progress
is made on the training in a period of time.
What
is the price of a standard module?
On
average, the modules will be priced from $19.00 to $99.00
US, depending on the content of the module or if it is a grouping
of modules. The Author and CADuniversity.com will decide on
the exact price of the modules. See the PDF called working
with modules.
How
much money can I make?
It
is up to you. The more training modules and the popularity
of those training modules will drive your revenue.
The nice thing is that you create the training module ONCE
and then keep reselling it over and over. No printing cost,
mailing cost, management, etc.
For each sale, the author receives 50% of the
listed price of the module as royalties, paid monthly for
as long as the topic is viable.
If
you just sell a simple module listed at $20.00 twice week,
you will receive $20.00 a week or $1040.00 a year royalties!
If
you sell that same simple module ONCE a day at 50%, that's
$3,650.00 a year!
For
a in-depth module listed at $99.00, if you only sell one a
week, at 50% you would collect $2574.00!!!!

We
take care of the "nuts and bolts" so you can spend
your time creating topnotch training content.
We
provide a one-stop location for instant, quality, pinpointed
training for the CAD community.
We
have also secured some of the best web addresses we could
find, so our clients and yours can easily find and promote
us. A few of these are:
CADuniversity.com, autocadtraining.com, autodesktraining.com,
and bentleytraining.com.
We have the backing of CADtech Seminars, LLC, the parent company
of CADuniversity.com. CADtech Seminars has been in the CAD
training business for over 10 years doing training across
the country with thousands of existing clients.
We
are also an Autodesk authorized publisher currently providing
training content to AutoCAD and Autodesk users.
How
do I get started?
First,
e-mail us with a.) the topics of modules you would like to
create and b.) a resume'. If the topics look good and they
have not been reserved, we begin the above process. 'What
is the Process?'

What
will it cost me to get setup?
We
have researched many software packages and have come up with
the following:
The trainer recording the videos will need to purchase software
for $39.00 and a set of headphones with a mic. That's it!
And we are working to get it lower!
The conversion, compression, self-extraction, and securing
of files will be done by us, CADuniversity.com, saving the
trainer the cost of the expensive software packages. (i.e.
Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 at $449.00 a seat, just for
starters.)
How
and when do I start to record the videos etc.?
Once
the topics have been approved, we will send out a packet that
contains all the information on how to create the modules
from start to finish. Once you have created the raw content,
we will review, convert and upload the content to the CADuniversity.com
servers.
When
will they be available for purchase?
As
soon as the modules are created and sent to us, we will convert
the files to a secure format and upload them. At this point,
the module is ready for sale.
All the 'nuts and bolts' work for CADuniversity.com has been
done in the past year and it is in its final testing stages.
How
does someone find out about CADuniversity.com?
We
will begin our advertising blitz in October/November with
ads in trade magazines, web site banners, web newsletters,
direct mail, and existing clients, along with a few nice giveaways
( ipods etc.) for visiting the site.
We also currently mail out direct mail to approximately 100,000
CAD users across the US each year.
We are open to other ideas for advertising and/or making CADuniversity.com
a better product.
How
do I contact you guys?
Due to heavy response, the best way to contact us is via e-mail.
